Review: Madame Zingara – The Miracle Tour

Jonathan Duguid, host of Weekday Drive, attended Madame Zingara – The Miracle Tour recently. These are his thoughts…

Miracle Tour

It was with sheer delight that I had the opportunity to attend the opening week of Madame Zingara – The Miracle Tour hosted at a very prestigious Capetonian landmark, the V&A Waterfront.

I had never been to a Madame Zingara show and was eager to find out what all the fuss was about; I mean, I’ve done my fair share of theatre reviews, I’ve seen cabaret over a meal, and have seen circus acrobatics many a time. It takes quite a bit to amaze me, and fully entertain me for a few hours. I am happy to report back that I was amazed, engaged, and it wasn’t some wishy washy show – it was a dazzling spectacle of top talent and entertainment (both local and international), with the right balance of mind boggling acts and sore-tummy-from-laughing-too-much comedy.

Review: Lil Wayne Cape Town Concert – I’m Still Music Tour

A few months ago many of us at the radio station were pleasantly surprised to find out that our strict boss, the All-Powerful Programming Manager and Deputy Station Manager, Roxanne Rhode, was an avid Lil Wayne fan. We didn’t realise how bad her infatuation with him was until we realised there was only one CD she ever listened to in her car day after day. She also could not get through the day without checking out a music vid or two of his on YouTube. Roxanne is a very gifted individual -singing is just not her strongpoint- but believe you me, the whole office knows Lil Wayne songs by heart now. She was fortunate enough to be sent to the Lil Wayne concert in Cape Town, thanks to Canoc Productions, which seems to have made her into even more of a diehard Weezy fan. This is her report-back on the event…

Review: Rocking The Daisies

Although slightly late, here is the much anticipated review of Rocking the Daisies. What springs to mind (if you’ll pardon the pun) is that lovely old saying, ‘better late than never’. It must be said, for the record, that the reviewer did hand in his review on time. So please don’t be mailing him any hate mail! So, without further ado, we proudly present T’seliso Monaheng’s review of Rocking the Daisies… [and as if that's not enough, we've also added a second review from our competition winner, Tshepang Molisana, which follows].

Movie Review: Viva Riva

Tshepang Molisana has been at it again. Yes, some may say she’s a slave to the high-life that society sadly bestows upon her, others might call her an intense journalist who enjoys going out on the town, all we know though, is that she is pretty damn good at what she does and we are lucky to have her on our team. She recently had the opportunity to go and see feature South African film, ‘Viva Riva’ -a film that is certainly getting people talking. This is what she has to say on it…
